Treat everyone with equal respect, regardless of differences in race, creed, gender, nationality, religion, political views, sexual orientation, etc. If you have a personal problem with any individual, please address the issue privately, to Dave Roy.
Please show respect by not talking to others when the instructor is teaching a technique to the class.
Please show respect by not showing “your version” of the technique to your training partner, that was just taught by the instructor. If you would like to share your personal techniques with your training partner or anyone else, please wait until open mat time at the end of class.
While at NESF, please avoid any conversations regarding politics, religion, or any other matter that may be offensive to others.
Egos are not tolerated and will be stripped from offenders in quick fashion.
Your progress is not based on your ability to overcome a training partner or a competitive opponent, but rather on your capacity to engage in a cooperative training experience where the winner is whoever learns more during the training session.
Please remember that NESF members are your teammates and your training partners. They are not your opponents. When you train, train hard, but train safely. You want them to come back the next day to train with you, not stay home injured.
If you use any gym equipment; gloves, pads, wraps during your training sessions, please put them back where you found them. Your parents are not here to do it for you.
Please keep your fingernails and toenails trimmed so that you don’t cut your training partner. Many needless injuries happen because of long nails.
Long hair should be tied up into a tight pony-tail or something similar.
You don’t need to shower before class, but please try to keep from smelling like a Porta potty. Your training partners will appreciate it.
Make sure you shower no more than 1 hour after class. Not showering after class may put you at risk of catching any number of skin infections, that can easily be avoided by showering.

Jock itch
Flu
Strep throat
(And anything else that you wouldn’t want to bring home yourself.)
Please clean up after yourself before returning to class. This includes Washing your hands before returning to the mat from the bathroom, leaving your dirty towel in the changing room, clogging the toilet, etc.
Anyone caught stealing from NESF or any NESF member will be delimbed and sent packing and the police will be called. We’ll tell them you ‘fell’.
Please pay them on time.
